IN GOOD ORDER
ROAD TO AUCKLAND. NO CHAINS REQUIRED. Tho newly metalled portions of the road between Whangarei and Auckland have stood up well under tho rains of tho past few days. No chains are required over these sections, and even should the rain continue, if the Auckland Automobile Association’s recommendations as to routes to take and the signs are followed no trouble should be experienced. Yesterday, according to the Northern Patrol of the A.A.A., traffic was very heavy, mostly returning south. The association advises that it there is any rain clay roads should not be taken, for although a saving in mileage might be effected, motorists were often held up for hours fitting chains.
