The matches in the shooting contest for the Haslam Shield were fired on the home ranges last week. The team winning this contest draws one poiht for the Tournament Shield and the winning team of each practice scores one point for the Haslam Shield. The latter shield which was held by Auckland College, was won this year by yietoria College, •which won two practices; Otago and Auckland won one each. Basketball. —Auckland 34 v. Some good exhibitions of swimming were witnessed, although the times were not particularly fast.
