(Received 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. • The “Sydney Morning Herald” says: “In the slowest-run Sydney Cup for years, the Dimmer emerged victorious from the smallest field for 23 years. After entering the straight it was evident that only an accident would cause the defeat of The Dimmer, The late withdrawal of Chide, Waterline, and Boulton robbed the event of some interest, but notwithstanding the small field it is also admitted that the class of horse engaged did not approach the standard of former years.” METROPOLITAN TROTS, TOMORROW’S ACCEPTANCES.
