BOWLING TOURNAMENT
HIKURANGI CLUB EVENT. After the section winners in the Hikurangi Bowling Club’s tournament had been decided yesterday morning, the semi-finals were played on the Hikurangi greens in the afternoon. It was expected to reach the final, but iliis will now be played on Saturday, at 2 p.m. The semi-finals resulted: Taylor beat Wood, 30—6; "Ward beat McMillan (Waipu), 29—12. AUCKLAND TOURNEY. SECTION WINNERS. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. The, Auckland Bowling Centre’s tourney has now reached the intersection play, the following skips being in the running.—Walker (Auckland), Gifford (Dominion Road), Woolley (Auckland), Miller, Knmmer (Auckland), Carter (Carleton), Russell (Remuera), Wright (St. Hellers), McMas ter (Stanley), Muston (Auckland). In the Executive Fours competition the following are the section winners. —Keatley (Rocky Nook) and Phillip (St. Heliers). RAIN SETS IN. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. The contests were continued this morning, when Miller (Mt, Eden) beat Carter (Carleton), 17 —14. Russell (Remuera) beat Wright (St. Holier’s), 19—10. , ; Further play was abandoned this afternoon, heavy rain setting in after an hour’s play. By that time, in the executive fours, seven heads had been played and Keatley (Rocky Nook) was 8 to 3 against Philip (St. Helier’s).
