SIR JOSEPH WARD
CAUSE OF BREAK-DOWN,
In conversation with Mr A. J, Murdoch, M.P., yesterday, the subject .oi Sir Joseph Ward’s health was referred to. Mr Murdpeh stated that some startling rumours had been circulated at* various times, but the facts were that Sir Joseuph Ward "had seriously impaired his health by sticking to his post when suffering acutely from fi bad attack of influenza.
“I was the one man in the Housi who was constantly in attendance or Sir Joseph,” said Mr Murdoch, “be cause my position as Senior Government Whip entailed that I should keep him informed as to the various mat: ters being dealt with in the 'Legislature. Sir Joseph, during the lattei part of the session, was keenly interested and directed operations in an active and bright manner. The inroads of influenza, however, have left him in a very weak condition physically, and he will need to have ,a complete rest.”
