AMBASSADOR TO MOSCOW
SOVIET DISAPPOINTMENT.
(Received Noon.) MOSCOW, November 13
The Press does not mention Mr Esmond Ovey’s appointment as Ambassador,. at which disappointment is expressed in Soviet official circles, because he is a traditional diplomat, instead of someone in closer personal touch with the Labour movement.
The opinion is expressed that Mr Ovey’s regime will not assist trade development, which will continue in favour of the United States. It is revealed that the name of the proposed Russian Ambassador was sent to London some days ago to ascertain if he were persona grata.
