AUCKLAND HARBOUR BRIDGE

BOARD HOLDS ALOOF. ( (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day.

Following a lengthy discussion hy the Harbour Board on a report by the chairman, Mr H. R. McKenzie, on the deputation which lie received from the Harbour Bridge Association, it would seem that the board has not committed itself for or against the scheme.

In receiving the report of the chairman, the board made it clear that in, view of the, decision of the Minister of Marine, the Hon.J. G. Cobbe, to go into the question of a departmental inquiry, the board felt it was not called upon to express an opinion as to the nature of the tribunal. The board is not prepared to share in the cost of an inquiry.
