For the second day of the Wellington Racing Club’s summer meeting the weather is fine, but dull. There is a large holiday crowd. Results: — Mungaroa High-weight Handicap.— (1) Mint Leaf, 11.2, 1; (2) Wedding March, 10.2, 2; (7) Bennanee, .10.5, 3. All started. Won by a length. Time —2.9.
Trial Plate, of 300 sovs; seven furlongs.—(2) Crown Area 1, (1) Assurance 2, (4) Serotina 3. Scratched: Dimmer. Won by a length and a half. Time—l.27*. Nursery Handicap, six furlongs.— (4) Paleta, 9.5, 1; (6) Laughing Prince, 9.5, 2; (2) Otairi, 7.8, 3. All started. Won by two lengths. Time —ll2*. January Handicap, of 500 sovs; one mile.—’(2) Centrepiece, 9.11, 1; (4) Rascal, 8.3, 2; (7) Joy Bird, 7.10, 3. Scratched: Piuthair and Alloway. Won by half a length. Time—l.4o£.
