A WOMAN ARRESTED
WARRANT FROM LONDON.

j At Rangiora yesterday- detectives ar--1 rested, on a warrant from London, a j woman aged 52 on a charge of conspiring to defraud the Prudential Insurance Company, London, of £2883. .The alleged .conspiracy circled' about a life insurance policy, taken out-by the [woman in 1924. She went for a bathe lat ,a Devon watering-place, • but was [not seen .there again, and all that was found was a pile of clothes on the: ; beach. After inquiries had been made, it was decided that she had f been drowned, and £2883, the amount of the .insurance policy, was paid out to relatives. About - two " months ago. -the Christchurch police began inquiries, which, eventually led up to yesterday's arrest.—Press Assn. f [[.'' '
