With the stage set as a schoolroom, himself attired as the schoolmaster, and "Jerry" and "N-jlly Kelly" the pupils, he had the audience in shrieks of merriment during the whole of his act. In his clever hands the puppets lived and seemed to enjoy themselves as much as the audience enjoyed them, and it was hard to realise that "Jerry' was nott the pink-cheeked, cheeky schoolboy he appeared, and that his witty repartee was the work of his talented master.
