A TALENTED VENTRILOQUIST
It is rarely Wliangarei is. visited by such a clever ventriloquist as Carlton Max proved himself to be Inst night at the Town Hall. With the stage set as a schoolroom, himself attired as the schoolmaster, and "Jerry" and "N-jlly Kelly" the pupils, he had the audience in shrieks of merriment during the whole of his act. In his clever hands the puppets lived and seemed to enjoy themselves as much as the audience enjoyed them, and it was hard to realise that "Jerry' was nott the pink-cheeked, cheeky schoolboy he appeared, and that his witty repartee was the work of his talented master. Carlton Max promises the children an extra treat at the matinee, tomorrow'.
