COMMERCE NEGOTIATIONS FRANC EXCHANGE SLUMP. GERMANY AFRAID. (Received 11.30 .a.m.) > LONDON, July 7. The "Times' " Paris correspondent states that the French and German trade negotiations are again Suspended, owing to Germany's rejection of the French proposals, which contained im-
portant concessions. The Germans, however, considered that they did not assure Germany • a/ portion on: the y French • market equivalent to that ofV fered to France in the German market. It is again alleged that Germany is delibtrately putting off a commercial settlement until certain political objects have been attained, particularly evacuation of the Ruhr and 'Cologne, but it is pointed out that Berlin is probably more influenced by fear of the seriouff fall in the frane resulting in a flood of imports from France. It is stated that the two Governments are taking steps to maintain ! contact with a view to later conversa--1 tions. —Times.
