ANOTHER CAR ACCIDENT.
WOMAN'S LEG BROKEN. DRIVER FAILS TO STOP. As Mrs Gaw, postmistress at Kamo, was walking home from Whangarei last evening at about 8 o'clock and was in the vicinity of the base of Burnett's Hill she heard a car coming up behind her. Consequently she walked over to the left and was on the grass at the side of the road when she was suddenly knocked over by the car. The victim was not rendered unconscious and her screams attracted notice from the occupants of a passing car. A taxi was sent for and Mrs Gaw was removed to the Whangarei Hospital, where it was found that both bones of her right leg were broken. The driver of the car which caused the accident did not stop.
