OBITUARY.
ME TED DENT,
After having been confined to his bed for some weeks as the result of a paralytic stroke, Mr Edward Samuel Dent passed away at 3.45 this morning in his son's arms as the result of a second seizure.
The late Mr Dent was born over 63 years ago at the Awaroa, and his father, Mr E. G. Dent, and family then moved to Wharcora where he engaged in farming for many years. While residing in that district deceased married JVtiss Smith, who predeceased him at the time of the influenza epidemic in 1918. Subsequently Mr Dent lived at Onerahi for a long period and was engaged in fishing, which occupation he and his two surviving sous, John and Finlayson Edward, have followed successfully since. A third son, Samuel Vernon, was drowned at the Thames about a year ago. The funeral will leave deceased's late residence in Clyde Street for Wliareora Cemetery at 1 o'clock to-morrow afternoon.
