The prospects of a settlement of the dispute between the cooks and wards and the Union Steam Ship Company seem brighter. The men did not hand in notice on Saturday and are apparently awaiting the results of a conference, which it ia understood will be held in Wellington to-day.—Press Assn. . . ■I •
