MATAPOURI.

I have to report lively weather along the coast. The wind blew a' hurricane on Wednesday and Thursday last; early on Friday morning rain fell and the wind somewhat abated, but before noon a regular hurricane was raging and continued until nightfall. As I write it looks as if we are in for a month's unsettled weather. Huge seas are still running. -

The N.S.S. Co.'s Paroto left Auckland on Friday last for this port, but as yet has not put in an appearance. She must be sheltering in /some snug spot.

Mrs. Edgar. Clements arrived home from Auckland on Saturday last. .

Miss Donaldson, Who spent a month's holiday here with her cousin, Miss Woolley, has left for her home in Auckland.

Miss Woolley is at present holidaymaking in the Queen City.
