Mr G. Edwards left for Auckland by the Manaia this morning, on a brief business visit.
Mr D. W. Jack returned to Whangarei this morning, after an extended holiday in Taranaki.
Mr D. White, an erstwhile resident of Whangarei, and now of Auckland, has been spending a few days amongst old friends in Whangarei. He left again by the Manaia to-day.
Mr Perkins, manager of Auckland branch of Messrs Dalgety and Co,, returned to the city this morning, after a short stay in Whangarei.
Captain G. Hooker of the trainingship Amoukura, has been appointed nautical adviser and chief examiner of masters and mates, in succession to Captain Blackburn, who retires at the end of the month.
