WHANGAREI REGATTA.
PROSPECTS OF GOOD SPORT,
Judging from the number of entries which have come forward in the rowing classes, the Whangarei regatta should prove unusually successful "this year. The young men in the district are taking a keen interest in the event and the committee has spared no pains to ensure the pleasure and comfort of tho spectators. Arrangements havo been made for a well-provided luncheon booth, and hot water will be available for picnic parties. A ladies' cloak room will also be provided.
The train arrangements should prove all that country residents could desire and as a result tho attendance from up-the-line should be exceptionally large. A day by the seaside is a great treat for the children and no better opportunity could be afforded than the regatta." Yachtsmen and launch owners should not forget that entries close on 22nd inst. An additional attraction for the young people will be a dance in the Onerahi Town Hall in the evening. Good music, floor and supper are promised.
