A LITTLE TOO TALL
AN. AUSTRALIAN STORY.
LONDON, August 19
Major Denton tells a story of an Australian who was in a trench when a Turkish bomb was thrown. The Australian instantly threw a sandbag over the mi'ssle and sat on it. The bomb exploded, and the soldier was blown a few feet in the air. He came down unhurt. When the officer indignantly rebuked him, the soldier replied, "I didn't want to see all you poor blighters killed."
