ISLE OF MAN
IN A BANKRUPT CONDITION,
LONDON, August 19
Mr Ambrose Qualtrough, Radical member of the House of Keys, moved: "That, in view of the imminence , of starvation and bankruptcy in the Islo of Mali, the British Government be asked to annex the island to Lancashire.", Mr Qualtrough declared that things were so bad that the Manxites had even offered to board the aliens, which would turn the island into a hell on earth.
Other members thought the island would gain by- annexation. The motion,.however,, , was lost.
