COUNCIL VACANCIES.
RETICENCE OF PREMIER
WELLINGTON, May 7
The term of office in the Legislative Council of the Hon. E. A. Loughnan has expired. The terms of the Hons. J. Eigg and J. E. Jenkinson expire on the Ist July. Questioned on. the subject of filling the several vacancies which have occurred in the Council since the beginning of the year the Prime Minister said no announcement would be made until Parliament met. It was probable that the appointments would be announced in the Governor's Speech.
