STOCK SALES.
Messrs Wilson and Wilson report:— We held our monthly sale at the Junction yards, Whangarei, on Thursday, 4th inst. We had an extra heavy yarding, the total entry being 1900. Included in this number were some very fine bullocks which sold at prices in favour of vendors. The bulk of the yarding changed hands at late ruling rates. The entry in beef was much below the usual entry; but what was yarded sold well, everything changing hands. The attendance was large and representative and included a number of outside buyers. We quote: Beef: Best bullocks £11 15/ to £12 10/, lighter weights £9 12/6 to £11, cows £6 10/ to £8 5/. Store Cattle: Forward aged bullocks £7 17/6 to £8 16/, others £6 to £7 15/, 2-year steers £4 10/ to £5 12/6, store cows £4 6/ to £5, empty heifers £2 5/ to £4 2/, yearling steers £2 10s to £3 12/, heifers in calf £4 5/ to £6, dairy cows £4 10/ to £7 5/.
