VITAL IMPORTANCE OF THE ; BALLOT. POLITICAL ACTION FOR UNIONS. LONDON, Sept. 3. At the Trades Union Congress at Manchester, Mr Harvey (Miners' Union delegate), moved, and Congress adopted, a resolution emphasising the vital importance of the 'ballot, which is proceeding under the Trades Union Act of 1913, and strongly recommending all trade unionists to vote in favour of unions undertaking political action.
Mr Harvey described the miners as the pioneers of political activity, and said money expended in that direction was the finest investment ever made. (Cheers.)
