COST OF RAND STRIKE
♦ ■ JOHANNESBURG, Aug. 31. Owing to the strike the Witwatersrand company's profit for July decreased by £300,000 compared with May. Five companies showed a loss of £34,000 compared with a profit of £52,000 during the previous month. The total decreased expenditure was £300,000.
