TUBERCULOSIS TRACES.
IN ARGENTINE BEEF.
(Received June 5, 8.12 a.m.) LONDON, June 4
Dr. Collingridge, Health officer of London, reports that he has found tuberculosis lesions in Argentine beef at Smithfield which bore the Government inspection stamp. His report states that apparently the" examination, if there is any, is most perfunctory in the Argentine. The Government when informed of the matter increased the number'of inspectors. Dr. Collingridge suggests that a label similar to that used on Australian and New Zealand beef should be attached to each quarter, bearing the names of the inspector and slaughterman. ■
