WATER POWER
A bill authorising the raising of money for the establishment of electrical power works and the utilisation of water power was introduced by Governor's- message. Replying to Mr Taylor (Christchurch) Sir J G. Ward said that the bill had nothing to do with the irrigation schemes of Central Otago, out was entirely devoted to the utilisation of water poAver. The bill was read a first time. The rest of die sitting was occupied with the discussion of answers to questions. On the formal mot'on for adjournment the House rose at 5.30 p.m.
