THE SAURIAN MONSTER AGAIN.
The famous saurian has cropped up again in the Waikato River. Whilst two men were crossing the Waikato River in a canoe on Monday night, a monstrous animal appeared alongside, nearly capsizing the canoe and terrifying the men. The canoe was swept near rapids at Arapuni gorge. The men made for the shore, followed by the monster, which they described as of immense size, with large jaws, showing jagged teeth. The body was covered with long shaggy hair.
Auckland, Friday. The Bay <of Islands Coal Company intend to declare a dividend at their next half-yearly meeting.
Major J. H. Burns died last night. Through a waggon accident in the market, Captain Steele has fractured two ribs.
E. B. Walker has broken a leg through a buggy accident.
Gisborne, Thursday. No trace of the missing man Galbraith, who started from Hangaroa River for Gisborne on Christmas Day. A Government search party has been out for a week.
