FINAL AWAPUNI TRIALS A mile by Theolateral, and by Don Mac and Lady Spiral, and seven furlongs by Rink and Gala Song, and five furlongs by Sir Bradbury were among the outstanding trials at Awapuni yesterday morning. A big proportion of the fast work took place on the new trial fft ass which -was in good order. Theolateral (J. P. Bowness) began very smoothly and he maintained a steady pace at just over 13 to the furlong throughout. He covered the last six in 1.19, the last seven in 1.32 and the last three in 40 2-5 to complete in 1.45 2-5. He finished with plenty of dash, indicating that he is improved as the result of the race he had at Woodville. He will be ridden by W. E. Carter at Bulls. Don Mac (A. S. Ewan) and Lady Spiral (M. Andrews) also galloped a mile, covering the last seven in 1.33 3- and the last three in 40 3-5. They were together and going strongly at the finish. Lady Spiral has improved during the last week. Gala Song (V. Sellars) was just in front of Rink (Ewan) at the end of seven run in 1.33 2-5. It was a good gallop for they ran the last six in 1.18 4- and the last three in 40 2-5. If Gala Song starts at Bulls, she will be ridden by Sellars. Sir Bradbury (H. Pearce) sprinted five in 1.4, the last four in 51. He went well and finished strongly.

Controller (Andrew's) scampered home from the three in 39 3-5, and Scroll (W. J. Stevens) was in front of Matara (J. Kendall) at the end of three in 38 3-5. On the Plough Solver (A.
