COURSE PROPER AND PLOUGH WERE FAST YESTERDAY CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 29. . A brilliant half-mile in 47 3-ssec by Bridge Acre, good efforts over a mile by Pride of Mossburn, Lord Adovcate, Sir Biau and Golden Souvenir, and a smart seven furlongs by Authentic were the outstanding trials at Riccarton this morning. Bath the course proper and the plough were fast. Omit and Master Dash were first to sprint on the course proper, Omit holding his rival off by half a length to record 48 2-ssec for four furlongs. Palm Bearer also worked attractively, beating Regal Lily by half a length in 48 2-ssec. Repudiate broke away "in front of gaystock at the four furlong post and increased his lead to four lengths, recording 48 2-ssec. Longsword did well to sprint over six furlongs in 1.16 4-5, doing the opening two in 26sec. Sir Bian broke away in front of Golden Souvenir at the mile post and after running the first half smartly in 50 4-ssec. Golden Souvenir never succeeded in catching him, though he had reduced Sir Biau’s lead to two lengths. Sir Bian returned 1.43 for the distance.

Royal Rae was easing dp half a length in front of Riverview, with Royal Victor well back, after covering a mile in 1.43, the opening half in 51 2-ssec.

Lord Advocate was galloping easily a length in front of Bitter Sweet at the end of their mile in 1.42 2-5, the first half being completed in 50 2-ssee. Pride of Mossburn, after running the first furlong in 13see was joined by Sing Sing, the pair reaching the four furlong post in 51 2*ssec. They kept together for the best part of the distance, the time for the mile being 1.42 1-5. Bridge Acre completed her work on the grass track by a fa£jt dash over four furlongs in 47 3-ssec. Caithness worked impressively over seven furlongs on the plough, with Master Robin holding her companion at bay by three-quarters of a length to record 1.30 3-5. They did the first four in 51 2-ssec. Double Cross went over the same ground in 1.32 4-5 and did the opening four in 52 l-ssec. Avonbridge took 1.33 4-5 after doing the first four in 52 3-ssec. Tremello had the measure of Broiefield over a mile, beating him by two lengths in 3.44 2-5 after they had run the first half in 50 4-sscc. Nightstalk did six furlongs in Ll 9 4-5, the first two being covered in 26 2-ssec. Montezuma and Lady Welbeck completed a mile together, the last, six furlongs taking 3.19 4-5 and the final four in 52 2-ssec. Delinquent started two lengths behind Belle Leonne and Sanskrit at the mile post, but soon joined them, beating Belle Leonne by two lengths, with a similar margin to Sanskrit. Delinquent took 3.46 3-5 for the journey, running the last half-mile in 52 3-sse*c. Lady Scholar had a length to spare from Lowry Bay and Kashmiri after sprinting five furlongs in 3.3 3-5, the first furlong taking 12 3-ssec.
