Extremist Counter-attacks In Two Cities (By Telagraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) Received Tuesday, 1.15 a.m. BATAVIA, Nov. 26. A British communique states that the Indonesians counter-attacked one British Indian unit in Sourabaya yesterday and used artillery and a number of armoured cars. Large numbers of Indonesians have been observed proceeding towards Malang, indicating that they intend abandoning the small southern sector in Sourabaya which is still in their hands. One hundred Indonesians in Batavia attacked a company of Punjabis, wno killed about half the attackers. Indonesian mortar fire wounded a number of women in the Ambarawi Rapwi camp.

The Indonesian broadcasts were resumed late last night on wavelengths used by the Jogjakarta and Surakarto stations which earlier sustained many direct hits by R.A.F. rockets. Reuter’s correspondent says it is not known whether the broadcasts are coming from the original sites or from mobile transmitters.

Indonesian extremists fired on lorryloads of British troops in ( Batavia yesterday, and a company of Seaforths was sent to round them up. They resisted, and 11 were killed. Fighting has intensified at one place in Central Java, where Allied troops are protecting civilian refugees. Fighting was reported last night near a refugee camp, where extremists killed women and children three days ago.
