American Aspirations In China Charged
CHUNGKING, Nov. 20.
The Communist New China Daily News, demanding the withdrawal of American forces from China, charged the United States with converting China into an American colony. The American forces’ activities enraged all patriotic, self-respecting Chinese. The newspaper recalled the imperialism of the British in India, the French in Indo-China, and the Dutch in the Netherlands East Indies. Chinese Nationalists report that Chungking troops pouring into Manchukuo through the Shanhaikwan gap, have reached Suichung, 40 miles beyond the Great Wall and halfway to Hultao and one-third of the way to Chingchow, says the New York Times’ correspondent.
