Boy Scouts Give Welcome
Recently Boy Scouts of the Feilding, Kowhai and other troops gathered to welcome home vScoutmaster Paterson on his return from overseas. Speeches of welcome were made after which “Blue Smoke” (Scoutmaster Paterson) related his experiences at Scout headquarters in Ceylon, Palestine and Egypt where he was cordially welcomed by Scouts in that part of the world. Mr. Welch, who has been act-ing-Scoutmaster in Mr. Paterson’s absence, relinquished this position and a vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Welch for his interest in the movement. Owing to an alteration in the tenderfoot, Ist and 2nd class tests, it has been decided that the troop must repass the examinations. Several senior Scouts have recently been the guests of Rovers at their meetings and a week-end camp is being contemplated for November 1718. Scouts have been practising for the Christmas party on December 8. Weekly parades will bo on Thursdays from 7-9 p.m.
