Flying-bomb Attack Not on Heavy Scale

Received Tuesday, Midnight. LONDON, Sept. 5. The Germans before daybreak sent flying-bombs against the southern counties including the London area, breaklng a lull of 86 hours. The attack was not on a heavy ecale. Some damage and casualties were reported. It is officially announced that British coastal guns shortly after midnight suecessfully opened up against enemy shipping in the Straits. Approximately 1000 rounds were fired in 40 minutes.
