Received Friday, 9.30 p.m. RUGBY, Aug. 3L Nine depositories containing some of the world’s greatest paintings and many sculptures of Michelangelo are now under the protection of the Civil Affairs Division of the Allied Armies, says a Washington message. The Allies take over the protection of art works after the enemy has been driven out and the contents of the depositories are checked by officers in tbe presence of a member of tbe staff of the Central Director of Fine Arts of the Italian Government.
