Help on Farms
Tlie Dannevirke District Primary Production Council has received inquiries from several farmers regarding accommodation for farm workers in the country, and Hon. K. Semple, Minister of Public Works, has made a statement that this was receiving attention. On the motion of G. Cammock, seconded by L. Feierabend, it was decided to write to the Minister stating that it is a matter of urgency in this district, and asking him to state his policy as quickly as possible. The National Council wrote in reference to domestic assistance on farms, stating that this was a matter of urgency and asking cooperation with the Women’s Division so that the manpower officers could establish a reserve pool of women who can be directed in circumstances of sufficient urgency. It was resolved on tho motion of L. Feierabend, seconded by R. C. Leach that the Women’s Division be asked to take this matter in hand with the help c*£ the council.
