All Saints’ Children’s Home
Tho September meeting of All Saints’ Children’s Home ladies’ committee was held at the Home on Thursday, Canon G. Y. Woodward presiding. Tho secretary (Airs. A. A. Langley) has issued the annual appeal for eggs to the towu schools, also the nearer country schools. These will be very welcome as all the preserved eggs are finished. The date of the birthday party was fixed for Thursday, October 21. The matron’s report stated that with tho exception of a few colds, all the children were in good health. Two children had been discharged, one boy being transferred to Sedgley Boys’ Home, Masterton. Some of the elder children had attended the Central School Ball and enjoyed it very much. Special thanks are due to the managements of the Regent and State Theatres for free passes for the the children for the pictures "Arabian Nights" and "Snow White,’’ which wero greatly enjoyed. Gifts of green vegetables would be greatly appreciated as these are very scarce just now, also j newspapers.
