(From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a fair attendance at the social afternoon organised by the Anglican Ladies’ Build. Bards were under Airs. Pedersen and the prize was shared by Airs. Woaslell and Aliss Powell. ALcsdames Faulkner and Bulmer were the hostesses. Airs. Norlhcotl was the winner of a competition. At a meeting of (he local Labour branch, it was decided to send two remits forward for consideration by the Alanawatu L.U.U. The first suggests to the Government that Bunnythorpc, which is i ideally situated, be allotted, after the war, a certain number of factories and State housing for the Workers. The see-: ond condemns the bus service at present catering for Bunnythorpe as inadequate and emphatically protesting against Feikling’s new parking regulations. Naval Airman R. Faulkner and Ordinary Seaman J. Cheetham were the guests ul the Patriotic Committee on Wednesday evening. There was a record crowd and an enjoyable time was spent. Those who contributed items were:—Pianoforte duet, Mrs. Cameron and Alargaret Jepsen; songs, Miss B. McKenzie; elocutionary items, Graeme Northcott; vocal solos, Airs. Cameron; instrumental solos. Air. (later; songs, Mr. Abraham; elocutionary items, Roger Abraham; songs. Mrs, Wcastell. Dancing was interspersed with the itepis. The guests of honour and their parents were asked on to the stage and the guests were then presented with the customary wallet by Air. A. F. -McKenzie, acting chairman. Airs. L. Leete was also on the stage and received a wallet on behalf of her husband, l-’te. Lcn Leete, who has gone overseas. Supper was served by the members of tho committee and dancing continued till a late hour, Air. Northcott acting as AI.C. NIP COLD GERMS IN THE BUD.
