National Day of Prayer in Feilding
To-day is to be observed as a National Day of Prayer and all citizens and settlers are invited to participate in the services arranged by the churches as well as the citizens’ service which will be held at the Tivoli Theatre commencing at 12.10 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Brigid’s Church at 7 o’clock this morning, while a united Holy Communion service will be celebrated at St. John’s Anglican Church at 8 a.m. to which communicants of all churches are invited. A united women’s prayer meeting will be held at the Feilding Baptist Church this afternoon at 2.30 and an intercession service will be conducted at each church at 7.30 o’clock this evening.
All business houses are invited by the Mayor to close between noon and 1 o’clock to-day to enable employees to take part in the citizens’ service which is expected to occupy about 35 minutes. There will' be a halt in the Feilding stock sale proceedings from midday until 1 o’clock to mark the occasion.
