LARGE PARLIAMENTARY GROUP ORGANISES Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Mar. 9. Forty representatives of provincial scats in the House Representatives have formed themselves into an Industrial Decentralisation Committee to advocate tho establishment of industries in secondary towns of the Dominion with a view to relieving the congestion in cities and the populations of semi-rural areas. The formation of the committee was the outcomo of a sue* gestion to members representing such seats by Mr. Clyde Carr at the request of the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce and Timaru Borough Council. The following sub-committee has also been appointed: Mr. Clyde Carr (chairman), Messrs Acland, Frost, Denham, Dickie, Meachcn, Hodgcns, Moncur and Boswell (secretary). During the recess the members' committee will collect data as to the possibility of extending industries within their own areas and will also enlist the help of supporting organisations. This will be considered at a full meeting of the committee, and later representations will be made to the Prime Minister and Minister of Supply who have already agreed to receive the committee as a deputation. During the Address-in-reply debate speakers on both sides of the House have referred to the desirability of the decentralisation of secondary industries and their establishment in provincial towns of the Dominion.
