Tangimoana

(From our Own Correspondent.) The Clydesdale school children had their annual picnic at Tangimoana on Friday last, the weather, which in the morning seemed threatening, turned out fine enough, although it was thought advisable to have lunch and afternoon tea in the McKelvie Hall instead of out of doors. After lunch, the teacher, Miss Flavell and members of the committee arranged a programme 'of sports events. j The local school is to bo complimented on being issued an environment certificate by the Education Board this year. .This really is an achievement for a school such as Tangimoana, where the soil is really pure sand and little shelter is afforded from the strong winds. Miss Laurenson and her pupils, of whom there are seldom more than three or four seniors, have laboured against great odds to get their school surroundings up to the environment certificate standard and credit is duo to them for their great effort. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Taylor, of “Ashleigli ’' Levin, have returned to their home after spending a holiday at Tangimoana as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. Allen. Air. and Mrs. Lyne and family, of Feilding, have taken a cottage at tangimoana for a few weeks. Mrs. M. O. Hands and her son, Brian, who have been residing at Tangimoana L’or the past two years, have now left to reside in the city. Airs. A. D. Scott, who is convalescing in Palmerston North after her recent indisposition, is reported to be making slow but satisfactory progress. Aliss A. M. Craine leaves shortly to spend a month hop-picking in Nelson.
