(From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a large number present at the social and dance organised by the vVomen’s Institute, items were given by members of the institute. There were a group of cowboy songs by the W.L songsters, tap dance duo by Joy Skoglund and Noreen Harris, song by Mrs. Weastell, tap dance by Joy Skoglund, song by the W.I. trio (Mesdames Faulkner and Weastell and Miss Powell) and a song and sketch by W.I. players. Mr. C. Harris acted as M.C. Mr. Weastell was the winner of a competition. Mrs. Church is absent on holiday at Stratford. The friends of Mr. W. Tomlinson will regret to learn that he is an inmate of a hospital. Saturday the weather was fine for the opening of the tennis season when the patron, Mr. J. Linklater, stressed the need for recreation and physical fitness these days. Afternoon tea was served by the lady members. Tho tournament for tho day was won by Miss E. Robson and G. Armstrong.
