Business and Professional Women Confer

The Dominion Council of the Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Club of New Zealand was held in Wellington during Labour week-end. Delegates were present from Hamilton, Christchurch, Napier, Wellington, Dunedin and Palmerston North Clubs. (Miss E. Jones and M. Scoble, represented Palmerston xNforth.) The main business of tho sessions was the consideration of a report which had been compiled by all the clubs of New Zealand, on the domestic service position, also the co-ordination of information relating to the employment of women under war conditions and of the rehabilitation of women workers. Delegates were entertained by Miss Ethel Daw, National Y.W.C.A. secretary and Miss Elsie Harper, President, Wellington B. and P. Club, and by Miss Marjorie Toulson, President of the New Zealand Federation. At this At Home, Mrs. Peter Fraser, who is an active member of the Wellington B. and P. Women’s Club, was present with Dr. Sylvia Chapman, past president of the Y.W.C.A. of New Zealand.
