It was learned in Feilding yesterday that it is now unlikely that there,will be a military camp in . Feilding in January next. , The use of the Feilding Jockey Club’s property for a military camp is still in doubt and it w r as learned yesterday that it will not be until next week when a final decision will bo reached.

It was stated at last evening’s meeting of Zone E Patriotic Committee in Feilding that the local Lady Galway Guild had, sent 150 cases of clothing for England. The following soldiers from Feilding and district departed for camp yesterday: C. V. G. Bracken, R. H. Booker, R. G. D. Garlick, F. W. Gorton, L. J. Rutherford, G. H. Salt, P. G. Theveuard and O. H. Nairn.

The Yen. Archdeacon Bullock, of Wellington, will be visiting Feilding over the week-end when he will be the guest of tho Ven. Archdeacon Petrie. Archdeacon Bullock will officiate in St. John’s Church on Sunday. Miss M. M. Grocott, Inspector of school dental clinics, mado an official visit to Feilding yesterday. Tho work of tho Feilding clinic and of Nurse P. Vondersloot was found to be very satisfactory and in a very efficient state. There is money in waste. It was stated at last evening’s meeting of Zone E Patriotic Committee in Feilding that tho National Patriotic Council had realised over £7OOO from the sale of waste.

The collection of waste in Feilding district for patriotic purposes is now being pursued with renewed vigour and the waste paper depot in Feilding is being well supported. Considerable quantities of paper are now coming to hand and proceeds will be credited to the patriotic fund. The Feilding Lawn Tennis Club are holding their official opening for the 1941-42 season on Saturday next, when a good rally of members and intending members aro expected to foregather. A cordial invitation is extended to all tennis players to be tho guests of tho Club for the afternoon. Should the weather prevent play, the opening will be postponed until the following week. Entries for the Feilding Young Farmers’ Club Show are now catalogued and a very satisfactory number have been received. Competition will be particularly keen in the i>urebred sheep classes and the JeTsey section, and over 70 entries have been received in the pig section. The Show will be held at the Showgrounds, Feilding, oo Tuesday next, commencing at 9 a.m. The district lamb competition will also be judged for live awards the same day.
