Melody Dance Club. The Empire Hall on Saturday evening was exceptionally well patronised for the usual weekly Melody dance, conducted by Miss W. R. Hubbard. The frocking was very attractive and smart designs were seen. A thoroughly enjoyable time was spent by all, the dancers demanding many encores. A professional orchestra of five players rendered delightful, bright numbers. Several novelty prize dances were included. The duties of M.C. were capably fulfilled by Howard R. York. An appreciated extra was kindly played by Mr. Frank Bailey, assisted by Mr. Alan Jordan (drums), and Miss P. Lambarth (double bass). An announcement was made regarding the Melody dance to bo held on Tuesday, June 3 7, in the Cosmopolitan Hall (owing to the usual hall being engaged for the Repertory pro- ! duction). The semi-finals of the waltz- [ ing competition will also take place on | Tuesday. Full details are advertised in this issue. National Club. Elsewhere in this issue members of the National Club and their friends arc notified that the fortnightly euchre evening will be held in the club rooms, Rangitikei Street, to-morrow (Wednesday) at 7.45 o’clock.
