St. John’s Church, Feilding

ANNUAL MEETING OF PARISHIONERS The annual meeting of the parishioners of St. John’s Church, Feilding, was , held in the Parish Hall on Tuesday evening, Ven. Archdeacon F. H. Petrie presiding. Tho annual report and bal-ance-sheet were presented by the church wardens and their adoption was moved by the vicar and carried. The balancesneet showed the finances of the parish to be in a healthy condition. The election of officer-bearers resulted as-follows: Vicar’s church warden, ' Mr. F. Mason, people’s church warden, Mr, G. AV. Shrimp ton; vestrymen, Messrs G. E. Boniface, G. L. Ewen, A. '• Funston, P. B. Desmond, 0. ilausmann, C. M. Sargissou, S. Chesterfield, G. Smithers, A". E. Williams and H. A. dc Lacey; synodsmen, Messrs J. Gordon Eliott and C. Ilausmann; auditors, Messrs E. G. Uoodbehere and C. H. Tate. The vicar referred to the memorial which it was proposed should be placed in the church to commemorate the 2S years’ ministry of the late A r eu. Archdeacon Innes-Jones and he appealed to parishioners to givo their full support to the proposal. On the motion of Mr. Desmond it was decided to place on record the parishioners’ appreciation of the long continued and valuable service rendered to the parish by Mr. C. A. J. Lcvctt in the capacity of synodsmau, a position which his state of health had unfortunately compelled him to relinquish. Votes of thanks and appreciation were passed to the clergy. After the business of the evening had been disposed of there was a short musical programme, Mesdames Golding and Parker, Miss Parker and Mr. G. J. Fitzpatrick being the singers. The accompaniments were played by Mr. A. E. Golding. Light refreshments were then provided aud dispensed by the ladies of the ladies’ church organisations. ST. ANDREW’S CHURCH, COLYTON The parishionors of St. Andrew’s Church, Colyton, held their annual meeting at Colyton on Monday, April 28, when there was a moderate attendance. The committee’s report and bal-ance-sheet were presented and approved, the balance-sheet disclosing a credit balance of £72 14s 3d, a very satistuc-l lory state of affairs. All the old office- j bearers were rc-elected with the excep- 1 turn of Mr. and Miss Funston and Mr. and Mrs. Evered who have left tho dis- , trict and with the addition of Miss N. Williamson. It was decided Lo recommend to the vicar that next year he try to arrange for a religions service to be hoi i at the monument on tho day preceding Anzac Day.
