Social Evening An enjovable social organised by Mr. E. J. Hicken was hela on Saturday evening. The first part of the programme consisted of a series of films and after supper the floor was cleared for dancing, Mr. J. V. Kyle attending to the music and Mr. E. J. Hicken acting as AI.C. Mr. Auld, on behalf of the visiting members of the Caravan Club, thanked Mr. Hicken for the entertainment ho had provided. Among those who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Auld, Mr. and Mrs. Hutchins and family, Mr., Mrs. and Miss James, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Hickin, Mr., Mrs. and Miss Noeline Mocfian,. Scott, assisted by members of the Caravan Club attended to the supper arrangements. Poisoning on Forestry Reserve At present, and for the next few weeks, rabbit poisoning on the Forestry Reserve will be undertaken. It is unfortunate that the laying of poison should be in progress during the shooting season, but this cannot be avoided as this is the most suitable time for poisoning tho rabbits. Shooters are warned to keep off the forestry reserve, firstly because shooting interferes with the work of the rabbitter and secondly, there is the danger of shooting a freshly poisoned rabbit. turned to her home after spending a short holiday with friends and relatives in the Wairarapa. Mr. Iven Burr, who recently completed his Teritorial training at Waiouru, spent a few days at Tangimoana with Mr. and Mrs. Rive before proceeding to Trentham to enter camp with the overseas forces. Little Vivienne Grinslcad, who lias been in the Palmerston North Hospital for the past four weeks suffering from a severe burn, has returned to her home. Private P. R. P. Larsen who has been serving with the National Home Guard in Wellington has been trasferred to Ohakea where he commenced duty early this week. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Mathias and Miss Shirley Mathias were out at their beach cottage recently with Miss Pat Krivan as their guest. Marina and Josie, the two small daughters of Mrs. John Grinwood, Taihape, are staying with Mrs. Nelson Gray.'
