Obituary

MR. HENRY WEBSTER The death occurred in his sleep re ccntly. off Mr. Henry Webster, a wellknown resident of Dannevirke, better known as Mr. Harry Webster. He was in his 70th year and for some considerable time had not experienced the best of health. He was m town during the day and his passing away from heart failure was therefore sudden. The late Mr. Webster, whose wife predeceased him some years ago, came to New Zealand from England at the age of 21 and for many years resided •it Cheltenham, in the Feilding district. Cater he and his family resided at Palmerston North, where he was resident agent for Messrs. Reid and Gray, field implement manufacturers, and from there he was transferred to Dannevirke. While there obtained the position of j caretaker of liio Dannevirke racecourse and retained it until racing ceased locally. Latterly, ho has been residing in Dannevirke. • Deceased was widely known and liked, on account of his dry humour, and he could tell many interesting stories about farm life in the early days. A family of eight are left to mourn their loss —Mesdamcs A. Sturrock, To Ilehunga; H. Brown, Dannevirke; X. Williams, Wellington; and Les Jackson. Palmerston North; and Messrs. Alan (Webster, Petone; Henry, Sydney; David, Dannevirke; and James, Wellington.
