Appreciation From Soldiers at Suva
OF PARCELS FROM FEILDING Gift parcels for our soldiers overseas find their way to many points of the world. Yesterday Mrs. Harry Chappell, of Feilding, received a letter from Private 1?. S. Williams from Suva, acknowledging receipt of a parcel. The letter read as follows: “We had our Easter parcels given us to-day and 1 thought 1 would drop you a lino to let you know that 1 received the one which included a note from you. There was great excitement, all tlie boys opening their parcels to see what they had received. Several of tho chaps in our hut received Feilding parcels and wiished me to convey thanks to the Feilding Patriotic Committee througU you. “We are treated very well here taking everything into consideration; the food is not bad and we get cheap cigarettes and tobacco and except for the hot weather, I don’t think we would have much to growl about although everyone of us would like to see New Zealand again. Once again many thanks for your parcel.” The Feilding and District Patriotic Orgauisatiou is preparing now to arrange for the next despatch of parcels for overseas.
