MALTA’S COURAGEOUS STAND LONDON, Feb. 17. Enemy raids on Malta were under discussion in the House of Commons to-dav, and the spirit of the people of the island evoked admiring tributes from a number of speakers. The Under Secretary for the Colonies, announcing that the sum of £1,000,000 was being provided to help the people of Malta to strengthen their measures of protection, announced that Malta had faced over 300 raids since Italy declared war against the British Empire. He spoke with special emphasis of the courageous stand which the island people are taking.
