ASHHURST SALE Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report a good average yarding of cattle of all classes with a small yarding of sheep at their fortnightly Ashhurst sale . Dairy cattle of all classes met with a sound sale, values showing a slight decline on the previous fortnight’s sale. Fat cows ex tho dairy of which a fair yarding was submitted sold at fully up to late rates. Several pens of yearling Jersey heifers met with a strong demand and sold at values comparable with those ruling over the past two or three vveeKs. A number ot yearling good 2-year Jersey bulls were submitted and for these a fair inquiry was in evidence. A small yarding ot sheep was comprised of rat ewes and hoggets, these making full late rates. Quotations: bpringing dairy cows, £7, £B, £S 10s, £lO 10s; springing heifers, £7, £7 10s, £B, £8 15s, £9; fat cows ex the dairy, £5, £5 10s, £6, £6 ss, £7 15s; yearling Jersey heifers, £4 10s, £5, £6 ss; yearling Jersey bulls, £6, £7, £B, £9, £11; 2-year Jersey bulls, £7, £8 15a Heavy prime shorn eweß, 18s, 18s 9d; fat shorn hoggets, 235, 255, 26s 7d.
