PERSONAL
Mrs. H. M. Haro, of Feildiug, left on Friday for a brief stay at New Plymouth and Patea. Mrs. Cyril Day and Miss June Day, of Palmerston North, are the guests of Mrs. Herbert Cadness, Northcote, Auckland. On Wednesday evening Miss K. Birnie entertained some twenty-two former pupils, of the Palmerston Nortn Girls' High School at her parents' homo in Victoria Avenue. The evening was spent in games, reading of a play, and musical items which were contributed by Misses G. Roberts and E. Wilson, supper being served by Mrs. and Miss Birnie. A subscription realised a sum for the parcels fund for soldiers. A discussion was held as to ways and means of getting more of the former pupils together, and it was proposed that another evening be held towards tho end of the year. A committee of six girls was elected to arrange for tho organising of social evenings.
